Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Supply Chain to establish and scale Vention’s European supply chain operations from our hub in Berlin, Germany. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring our European operations are built for long-term success.
Reporting directly to the CSCO and in close alignment with the Global Supply Chain Director, you will build and execute a local supply chain strategy for Europe. This includes logistics, inventory, vendor management, planning and scheduling, and facility setup. You will also hire, empower, and scale a local team, while driving large-scale projects in collaboration with Vention’s global peers.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy and Operations
- Build and execute a local supply chain strategy for Europe that aligns with Vention’s global framework while meeting regional needs
- Establish and scale the end-to-end European supply chain to support Vention’s automation solutions
- In collaboration with Vention’s global logistics team, own local inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, customs, freight providers, and last-mile delivery
- Implement strong inventory management practices, balancing working capital with availability and customer responsiveness
- Support and lead planning and scheduling activities to ensure efficient production and fulfillment
- Drive execution of large-scale projects such as warehouse expansion, vendor transitions, and supply chain improvement initiatives
- Develop collaborative partnerships with local vendors while leading cost-reduction initiatives (e.g., fabricated parts, metal panels, logistics)
Systems and Process Excellence
- Leverage MRP and WMS systems to manage operations; identify opportunities for improvement and provide actionable feedback to product teams
- Drive Lean, standardized, and scalable processes that enable long-term efficiency and resilience
Leadership and Collaboration
- Hire, empower, and scale a Berlin-based supply chain team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to align demand, capacity, and delivery planning
- Act as a collaborative but principled voice in cross-functional discussions, listening, exploring trade-offs, and constructively challenging requests when needed to ensure sustainable business success
Building and Infrastructure
- Lead the negotiation of warehouse and building leases in Berlin with minimal supervision
- Manage fit-out, construction, and facility-related contracts to ensure the site is operational on time, on budget, and aligned with Vention’s needs
- Oversee vendor selection and contract execution for building services such as utilities, security, and facility improvements
Qualifications
- 10+ years in supply chain, logistics, or operations, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
- Proven ability to develop and execute supply chain strategies at a regional or global level
- Strong background in logistics management (inbound, outbound, and last-mile)
- Proven success in inventory management with measurable improvements in cost, accuracy, and service
- Demonstrated ability to support and lead planning, scheduling, and large cross-functional projects
- Experience negotiating commercial warehouse leases, managing fit-out projects, and overseeing facility contracts
- Track record of scaling supply chain operations for a global or North American parent company
- Strong vendor negotiation skills with a focus on cost savings and value creation
- Proficiency with MRP, ERP, and WMS systems, including the ability to identify and champion system improvements
- Experience in automation, industrial equipment, or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing is a strong asset
- Leadership presence with the ability to collaborate, influence, and build consensus across functions while keeping focus on the greater good of the business
- Must be fluent in German and English. Other European languages are valuable assets
