Job Description

As an Accounting Technician at Vention, you will have the opportunity to work in a world class team with dynamic and talented professionals, assisting with our day to day accounting. In your role, you will perform a wide array of full-cycle accounting functions including the timely and accurate month, quarter and year-end of the company.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the entry of logistics invoices into our accounting system and ensure timely payments
  • Manage accounts payable for internal (non-inventory) purchases. Tasks include data entry, reception tracking and supporting various departments for internal spend (marketing, R&D, admin)
  • Participate in rolling out PO processing for non-inventory spend across all departments
  • Support month-end close activities by preparing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (cash, prepaids, PP&E, accruals), journal entries, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests related to payables, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
  • Supporting the finance team in ad-hoc analyses of logistic spend

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in monthly accounting and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Ability to deliver within tight deadlines
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Excel, Word
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French, German is considered an asset
  • Experience in a growth oriented and fast paced company is an asset
  • Experience or knowledge using Netsuite is an asset
  • Experience with various international logistics and brokerage companies is an asset
