Job Description

As a Senior Robotics Integration Engineer at Vention…

You’ll be a key member of the Client Engineering team, bridging the gap between post-sales implementation and advanced technical support. We’re looking for a highly autonomous, field-ready engineer with a passion for troubleshooting, client collaboration, and delivering high-impact support both remotely and on-site.

You’ll support complex industrial automation systems by investigating issues, validating hardware and software configurations, and helping clients get the most out of our systems. This role combines the mindset of a field service engineer with the rigor of a Tier 3–4 technical support expert.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a subject matter expert for automation challenges across Vention’s platform and ecosystem.
  • Lead technical deployments and investigations, both remotely and on-site when required, ensuring that Vention hardware, software, and robotics systems meet client expectations.
  • Program and validate automation systems using Vention’s MachineMotion controller, MachineLogic software, and client-specific logic (Python).
  • Integrate and commission robot applications using our key partner technologies (Fanuc, Universal Robots, ABB), including programming, safety configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Support advanced escalations by owning and resolving complex support cases, ensuring fast turnaround and clear communication.
  • Participate in client discussions with Sales and Customer Success Managers to identify the best-fit solutions and deployment strategies.
  • Execute user acceptance testing (UAT) for new hardware and software releases to ensure readiness and functionality before rollout.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and technical FAQs, to enable self-service and reduce repetitive tickets.
  • Manage and contribute to the support system (Zendesk) by owning incoming tickets, prioritizing effectively, and improving internal workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and QA by sharing field insights, contributing to feature feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior Integration Specialists, helping them grow in communication, ownership, and technical depth.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for skills, intellect, and experiences that will help you succeed in this role but we also know that various profiles (not only the one described below) could be successful. If you’re excited about what you read and think you’d be a great fit, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet every single qualification.

You’ll bring:

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering field.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, robotic systems integration, or advanced technical support roles.
  • Solid foundation in system commissioning, controls, and industrial machine integration.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Zendesk) and internal knowledge base development.
  • Programming experience (Python) and strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and software layers.
  • Experience with robot programming (Fanuc, Universal Robots, ABB) is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts to clients, teammates, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with post-sales client environments and comfort owning relationships with high-value enterprise clients.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site deployment and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Fluency in English; French or Spanish is a strong asset.
  • A curiosity to learn, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to contribute to something meaningful.
