The Opportunity
VoPay is seeking an experienced and highly organized Content Marketing Specialist to lead the strategy, creation, and execution of content across the organization. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role manages VoPay’s full content engine, supporting cross-functional initiatives across product marketing, demand generation, corporate communications, SEO, internal communications, and PR.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing multiple priorities, and brings creativity, initiative, and strong editorial judgment to every part of the marketing funnel.
Role & Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning
- Own the overarching content strategy and execution for VoPay.
- Manage the full marketing content calendar (daily, weekly, monthly), ensuring timely delivery across all teams.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and monitor fintech, payments, and industry trends.
- Measure performance using defined KPIs and reporting dashboards.
Content Production & Publishing
- Publish weekly blogs on blog.vopay.com.
- Produce one monthly case study and oversee its distribution plan.
- Produce one monthly gated eBook and distribution workflow.
- Produce one monthly thought leadership piece (high-quality articles, op-eds, executive Q&A, industry POV).
- Review and contribute to website content for clarity, accuracy, and brand voice.
- Provide content across all email marketing campaigns (internal and external).
- Create all product marketing blogs and email marketing content.
- Strategize video content campaigns and work with the creative team to produce high-quality video assets.
- Repurpose content into additional formats such as infographics, social copy, landing pages, sales assets, and partner collateral.
Content Optimization & SEO
- Ensure all content is compelling, accurate, relevant, and optimized for SEO.
- Maintain and enhance on-page SEO, keyword strategy, and backlink opportunities.
- Conduct quarterly SEO audits and implement improvements.
Corporate Communications & PR
- Contribute to press releases, media pitches, and external communications.
- Support internal communications and executive communication needs.
- Prepare content for leadership team participation in panels, events, interviews, and podcasts.
- Maintain consistency across corporate communication guidelines.
Campaign, Digital, and Social Support
- Assist with the development and distribution of content for newsletters, social media, ads, landing pages, and presentations.
- Support product releases, partner marketing, and lead-nurture campaigns.
- Manage VoPay’s social media content calendar and support community engagement.
- Support campaign setup and reporting in HubSpot, including segmentation.
Event & Enablement Content
- Prepare meeting materials, speaker decks, briefing documents, and event content packages.
- Support marketing operations during webinars, conferences, and partner events.
Process Management & Operations
- Produce two process-oriented SOPs per month (content, SEO, PR, WordPress, case studies, etc.).
- Manage freelancer content briefs (as applicable).
- Maintain clean and well-organized content and PR repositories within Google Drive.
- Manage Jira tasks and ensure workflows stay up to date.
- Track performance analytics and deliver monthly content performance reports.
- Support the CMO with internal communications, operations tracking, and project prioritization.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, marketing operations, or a similar role.
- Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of SEO, content formats, and digital marketing fundamentals.
- Experience working in fintech, SaaS, or technical industries is an asset.
- Familiarity with G Suite, Jira, HubSpot, Google Analytics, WordPress, Figma, and social media scheduling tools.
- Strong event preparation and presentation support skills.
- Proactive, creative, detail-oriented, independent and highly organized.
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure.
- Positive, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships across teams.
Note: This is a full-time on-site position located in our Vancouver office.
